Head Kore 93 W review 2020
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
The amazing Head Kore 93, winner of the "Best Ski" award last year in the men’s category, is quickly becoming one of the benchmarks in the all-mountain ski market. This year, Head has brought out a women’s version: The Kore 93 W.
Its construction is the same as the men’s model. It is interesting to note that Head’s approach is fairly different from other brands. The competitors often use one or several plates of Titanal (an aluminum and zinc-based alloy) to increase the stiffness and liveliness of the skis. Of course, Titanal has excellent mechanical properties, but it also has the disadvantage of making the ski heavier. The Austrian brand (who has a lot of experience making tennis rackets) has an innovative industrial approach. In fact, it uses new materials like Koroyd and Graphene. The stiffness-to-weight ratio achieved using these materials is amazing.
We should point out that the Kore 93 W tested by the Proskilab testers was not actually 93 mm underfoot like the men’s version. It is 2 mm narrower and therefore measured 91 mm in the waist. Nevertheless, it is still the widest ski tested in this category.
With lineage of this quality, the testers were expecting a high-performance ski. They were not disappointed.
The ski performed very well on groomed runs. It is grippy, very stable, and comfortable at high speed. Off-piste, its width gave it an undeniable advantage, especially in powder. In chopped-up snow, its stiffness allowed it to charge through everything.
On the other hand, this stiffness makes it feel less comfortable. The ski is demanding and the testers pointed out that it did not absorb uneven terrain very well.
The Head Kore 93 W is a performance-oriented ski. We recommend this model to strong athletic female skiers who want to do a mix of frontside and freeride skiing.

- Excellent frontside performance
- Floatation in powder
- Edge grip

Review: Cons
- Stiff and demanding ski
- Absorption of variable terrain could be improved, not very smooth

Manufacturer's remarks
The KORE 93 W is the answer to imperfect snow. It is designed for women looking for versatility and precision. It is perfect in all conditions. The Graphene and Karuba construction makes it a lot lighter without sacrificing skiability. #TOTHEKORE
