Rossignol Experience 94 TI review 2020
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
Two years ago, Rossignol reinvented its Experience range. Before, it was very frontside-oriented, but now it is a real all-mountain range. The shape is more traditional, and the tip is more progressive, which significantly improved performance.
The Experience 94 Ti benefits from the changes made to the ski and has risen to top level in a very competitive category. This year, the ski won the Best Ski medal, so Rossignol’s innovation has definitely been recognized.
The ski meets all the criteria of the All-Mountain Back category and is amazingly versatile. It stands out for its accessibility and the liveliness of its frontside performance.
The testers praised the overall performance of the ski, which they found very solid and predictable, “stable,” “confidence-inspiring,” and forgiving of small errors in balance. It pivots easily, and skidded turns are consistent. Therefore, it is not a very demanding ski and can be enjoyed with minimal technical ability.
Although it is very accessible, the ski does not lack character – far from it. It is very snappy and playful, and it carves well on groomers. Turn initiation is intuitive. The ski engages in the turn with minimal effort. It flexes easily, but not too much. The rebound is very good.
All these qualities make it feel light underfoot, easy and agile at the same time. One tester said, “on groomers, it turns like a slalom ski.” This is a rare quality for a ski in this category; the skis usually have little sidecut and are more geared towards big turns.
Off-piste, the Experience 94 Ti demonstrates these same qualities. The ski is calm, maneuverable, and comfortable in all types of terrain. A slightly wider width underfoot would have been nice for powder, but the 94-mm waist is a good compromise.
Since the ski flexes pretty easily, the ski shows its limitations at high speed. Pure performance is not its forte. Its real strength is the mix of accessibility, versatility, and maneuverability. The Experience 94 Ti asks very little of the skier and provides a lot of fun.
In conclusion, the Experience 94 Ti is a good all-mountain ski that performs well, is reliable, and is a total blast to ski. It will appeal to a wide range of skiers, from intermediates wishing to try off-piste to more experienced skiers looking for a versatile and playful ski.
