Dynastar Speed Master Konect review 2019
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
With its racing plate, the Dynastar Speed Master excelled in the "Giant Slalom" category. Here, the same ski is in a less specialized category and features the simple "Konect" plate from the Rossignol group (which owns Dynastar). The Konect plate is geared more towards a recreational skier.
Having a more flexible plate does not alter the ski's intrinsic characteristics, and it retains its race-inspired qualities. The Speed Master stands out for the precision, stability, and edge grip that make it so awesome. The ski's liveliness and solid overall performance, together with its intuitive nature, make it a total blast to ski on. The pro testers were really enthusiastic: "Pure bliss," "a playful ski that's ready for anything," and "can ski without thinking" were some of their comments.
Of course, the level of performance is not quite up to that of the Speed Master with the R22 plate reviewed in the "Giant Slalom" category. On the other hand, the Speed Master Konect is more accessible and easier to use.
As expected, its Giant Slalom DNA makes it more demanding in short turns.
We recommend the Speed Master with the "Konect" plate for all advanced to expert skiers who want a high-performance ski to carve dynamic long-radius turns. More aggressive skiers might prefer the version with the R22 racing plate.
