Stöckli Laser SC review 2020
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
The Stöckli Laser SC is well-known to the Proskilab testers and often ranks very high in the test. This year, it won the “Best Ski” award in this category.
Performance is great. The ski is lively, it enters the turn quickly, and flexes easily, but not excessively. The edge hold is excellent, the ski is grippy, very precise, and “very responsive.” The rebound at the end of the turn is dynamic without throwing you off balance.
The ski we tested this year seemed a little more comfortable in skidded turns than last year’s model. The testers liked that the ski could smoothly transition between skidded and carved turns.
What impressed them the most though was the stability and smoothness of the ski. The Laser SC stays “well-positioned,” in contact with the snow, calmly carving an arc in the snow and efficiently absorbing all the contours of the terrain. It makes you feel safe and “in control” in all situations. We should point out that it does not require much effort for a ski of this category.
On the other hand, at high speed, it loses some of its awesome power. The ski becomes unstable and edge grip is less solid.
It is an excellent ski for this category, which focuses on performance as well as the enjoyment of the skier. We recommend the Stöckli Laser SC to a wide range of skiers from advanced to expert.
