Rossignol React R6 Compact review 2020
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
The new Rossignol React range replaces the Pursuit range, which Proskilab tested last year.
The React R6 Compact excels in this category where we are looking for skis that are accessible to low level skiers and can help them to improve their technique.
In terms of accessibility, the React R6 Compact ticks all the boxes. The testers said the ski was “very balanced,” “reassuring,” and inspired confidence “from the first turn.” They were especially impressed that it “pivoted perfectly” allowing the ski to go into the turn very easily and flat. Skidded turns are “smooth,” intuitive, and “consistent.”
And the icing on the cake, the ski tends to finish the turn effortlessly, which will appeal to lower level skiers.
The React R6 has something else in reserve. It will be there for you when you increase pressure, and it is actually very comfortable in long carved turns at high speed, where it remains stable and grippy.
This makes it a “perfect ski to improve with.” The testers said that “from the first turn, it is obvious that this ski has a great potential to help you learn.”
However, it is a little less comfortable and requires more effort in small turns.
The Rossignol React R6 is a “learning ski” and is perfectly suited to this category. It is tiny bit less accessible and performs a bit better than the K2 Konic 76. It is geared towards skiers who are proficient at skidded parallel turns and would like to learn to carve, and eventually carve at high speeds.

Manufacturer's remarks
Built for intermediate to advanced skiers, the new React R6 Compact allows you to experience the magic of effortless carving on groomers. The new Flex Tip technology allows faster acceleration in and out of the turns, putting you in the zone with an instant rhythm to carve one perfect turn after another. The carbon-reinforced sidewall that runs the length of the ski ensures excellent edge grip and rebound to find your flow.
