The Salomon GS Rush is the least GS-like ski of the review. It is also the most versatile.
The testers liked that the ski had “a very even flex pattern,” and that its performance was “solid and predictable.” The ski inspires confidence and is accessible to intermediate skiers. It does not require a lot of commitment from the skier, and it is comfortable in all types of turns: carved, skidded, etc…
In short, it is pretty different from a FIS ski - it is a more recreational ski that will appeal to a large number of people. With its 17-m radius in the test size, the S/Race Rush GS is very versatile, and especially at ease in medium radius turns.
The testers were very impressed by the ski’s carving ability. It is super fun in medium radius turns when you take huge edge angles. The ski carves a clean arc efficiently and is a total blast.
The downside: the ski does not perform quite so well in long GS-style turns at very high speeds. However, it is still a ski that you can use to try out racing.
The S/Race RUSH GS feels more like a carving ski than a GS ski. It is an excellent choice for all advanced to expert skiers who like aggressive carving.
