Rossignol Sky 7 HD review 2018

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

True, it came last in a demanding preselection for the best skis on the market, but the Rossignol Sky HD has kept its predecessors’ character. Very flexible, especially at the tip, it’s remarkably easy to handle and will even go slightly into overdrive, with great float in deep snow up to intermediary speeds. But when we step up the pace, this flexibility makes it much more difficult to steer. It’s nonetheless a good ski that will suit a less sporty public looking for a very accessible leisure ski that will help them to tackle natural features.

Measured weight of the model reviewed (ski only) by PROSKILAB: 1725 g

Review: Pros

  • Very accessible
  • Fun when cruising
  • Quality and consistency of skid turns
  • Planes in the powder
  • A reassuring, no surprises ski

Review: Cons

  • A flexible ski that lacks character
  • Not very happy when we step up the pace, especially on hard pack,
  • Very flexible tip which chatters at high speed

Manufacturer's remarks

The ultimate blend between the lightness of a touring ski and the performance of an all mountain back ski is back with a revolutionary design to push the limits of this discipline even further. Fitted with the new AirTip 2.0, the Carbon Alloy Matrix technology and with 98 mm at the waist, the SKY 7 HD will be your ideal one-quiver tool whatever your style: freeride, ski touring or all mountain. You can choose your own bindings; the ski will adapt to the terrain and the snow it has to deal with.
